Dr. Ernst von Kimakowitz

Dr. Ernst von Kimakowitz is passionate about strengthening the positive impact of business towards a more equitable and more sustainable planet. He is founding director of the Humanistic Management Center and co-founder of the Humanistic Management Network. Ernst holds a research position at the University of Lucerne in Switzerland and has been visiting faculty at universities in Colombia, Germany, India and Japan.

Ernst is lead editor of the much acclaimed Humanism in Business book series at Palgrave Macmillan which has grown to 17 books since its inception in 2011. He holds several board member, editorial and reviewer positions and frequently gives talks to audiences ranging from student groups to senior executive teams around the globe. 

 

In addition to general questions of business ethics and corporate responsibility, his topical foci include humanistic management, stakeholder engagement, impact investing, the business impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), development theory, purpose driven organizations and purpose driven innovation. He researches, publishes, teaches and delivers advisory services on these topics.

 

Ernst holds a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics (LSE), an award winning Ph.D. from the Institute for Business Ethics at the University of St. Gallen, and has won a Best Symposium in Management Education and Development award at the Academy of Management.
