PROF. WAI-YEE CHAN

Pro-Vice-Chancellor & VP of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Master of CW Chu College and Professor of Biomedical Sciences CUHK

Chan Wai-yee obtained his secondary and college education in Hong Kong and his graduate school training in the U.S.A. After he completed his PhD in 1977, he worked in the US as a university professor, rose the academic rank, and became a tenured professor at Georgetown University Medical Center, and concurrently as a scientist at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH). In June 2009 he left the US to become the Founding Director of the School of Biomedical Sciences, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He later also served as Master of CW Chu College in 2017 and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Vice President of the University in 2018.
